Sydney Sterling
Trainee
Sydney Sterling, a Columbia, SC native, began dancing at age four and soon trained at Pavlovich Ballet School (now Palmetto Conservatory of Dance) where she studied under internationally recognized Artistic Director Radenko Pavlovich and later under the highly regarded Artistic Director and mentor Brianna Taylor Kelly.
In the 2024–2025 season, Sydney danced with Columbia Classical Ballet under the direction of Brooklyn Mack, internationally acclaimed ballet star and Artistic Director, and later under the direction of Joseph Phillips, award-winning international ballet artist and Artistic Director before joining Palmetto Ballet Theatre. She is now thrilled to be continuing her training and career as a Trainee with Palmetto Ballet Theatre under the direction of Brianna Taylor Kelly.
Sydney has competed extensively at renowned competitions, including Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), American Dance Competition | International Ballet Competition (ADC IBC), Universal Ballet Competition (UBC), and the World Ballet Competition (WBC) earning top placements including 1st Place Gold Medal winner at YAGP Semi-Finals, 2nd Place at UBC (2025), and 5th Place at WBC (2025).
In addition to these accomplishments, Sydney has earned numerous scholarships to prestigious training programs, including The Rock School for Dance Education, University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) Ballet Program, Orlando Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Ballet West, Ballet Hispánico, and the Duncan Cooper Workshop, among others.
Sydney is excited to continue her artistic and technical growth with Palmetto Ballet Theatre.
